Kinnickinnic Kayaking

Spring-fed Adventure

The Kinnickinnic is a beautiful cold-water, spring-fed river in western Wisconsin, just about 45 minutes from St. Paul.  The picturesque nature of this trip can’t be beat! You’ll pass by stands of towering pines, meadows and rolling farmland.

The Kinni is classified as a Class 1 trout stream, and the watershed is home to a variety of wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled to see what you can find!

The Kinni trip is especially popular in the heat of summer because of the cool water and tree cover. When it’s too hot in the city, it’s always pleasant on the Kinni!

Our run takes you on the upper Kinni (above the dam in River Falls). While not as difficult as the lower Kinni, it’s got its fair share of twists and turns with fast water and small rapids along the way. Overall it is a fairly relaxed trip but you should have some steering skills to make it around turns and obstacles.

You’ll start outside of River Falls and paddle toward town, approximately 5 miles and 2  hours, depending if you stop and swim or have lunch along the way.  While you’re in River Falls, take some time to visit the town and nearby Kinnickinnic State Park if you can.

Reservations are taken 7 days a week, as our scheudle allows, with groups of 4 or more people. Cost is $59 per person.
